Federal University Dutsin-Ma Implements Academic Progression System for Health Sciences Programs

The Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, has successfully implemented an academic progression system for its Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.SC), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS), and Bachelor of Radiography programs.

The implementation, overseen by the Directorate of Management Information System (MIS), ensures that student progress in these disciplines is now accurately tracked and managed through the university portal.

Key features of the new system include strict academic policies requiring students to pass all courses with a minimum mark of 50. Students who fail more than three courses will be withdrawn from their program. Additionally, those who fail up to seven courses will be required to repeat the session.

The grading system has also been updated, with grades now categorized as follows: 0-49 (F), 50-59 (C), 60-69 (B), and 70-100 (A). Notably, there are no grades E and D in this new system. The degree classification for these programs remains unclassified, with a final result of PASS.

This initiative reflects the university's commitment to maintaining high academic standards within its College of Health Sciences.
