FG Declares October 1 Public Holiday to Mark 64th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday to celebrate Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary. This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Saturday.
In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation's past heroes and draw inspiration for the challenges ahead. He emphasized that building the Nigeria of our dreams requires unity and collective effort.
The minister also extended his wishes for a Happy Independence Day, encouraging citizens to remain committed to the task of nation-building.
