The Federal Government has stepped up coordinated interventions to promote safe schooling and sustain learning continuity in states where schools have reopened after temporary closures triggered by security challenges.
This was disclosed by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, who said the renewed push is aimed at stabilising learning environments, restoring public confidence in the education system, and ensuring uninterrupted access to education for learners in affected areas.
According to the Minister, the Federal Ministry of Education is working closely with state governments and host communities through a comprehensive action plan designed to support learners and teachers during the transition back to full academic activities. The initiative prioritises safety, access, and continuity, with a strong emphasis on technology-driven learning support.

Key elements of the intervention include the development of updated learner-support flyers that provide clear, step-by-step guidance for students and teachers. These materials feature QR codes linked to approved digital learning platforms, enabling easy access to structured educational content aligned with national standards.
The Ministry has also expanded the deployment of its digital learning platforms, including the Learning Passport, FME Inspire, and Ignite online learning portals. These platforms are fully aligned with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) curriculum and are designed to complement classroom instruction, particularly in communities recovering from disruptions.
In addition, a digital learner guidance pamphlet has been produced to assist both learners and teachers in navigating the approved platforms effectively. The initiative is being implemented with technical and developmental support from key international partners, including UNICEF, UNESCO, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding education across the country and ensuring that security-related disruptions do not deny any child the right to learn.
