Four UNILORIN Graduates Receive ₦6m BATNF Grant
The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has awarded ₦6m to four UNILORIN graduates to boost agripreneurship through its Graduate Agripreneur Programme.
On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) awarded six million naira to four exceptional graduates from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin. This award is part of the Graduate Agripreneur Programme, an initiative designed to empower young agripreneurs with grants, skills development, and mentorship, thereby promoting innovation and sustainability within Nigeria's agricultural sector.

The selection process was rigorous, narrowing down from numerous applicants to eight with compelling business plans, and ultimately, four outstanding agripreneurs were chosen as grant recipients. Each of the winners, Olakunle Olajire Sheriff, Muhsinah AlMustapha Ibrahim, Oluwadare Ogunmonye, and Anuoluwapo Akinboye, received ₦1.5 million to support the establishment of their farms on the university campus.
This initiative not only provides financial support but also equips these young graduates with the necessary tools and guidance to succeed in the agribusiness sector, contributing to the nation’s food security and economic growth.
