FULAFIA VC Commends Students Integrity Club on Fire Prevention Programme

 

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has praised the Students Integrity Club (SIC) for organizing a fire safety and prevention sensitization program for students.

The event, held at the Faculty of Agriculture Mini Auditorium, aimed to educate students on fire safety and prevention measures.

 

Prof. Abdul Rahman emphasized the importance of fire safety, noting that while fire can be useful, it can also be dangerous and destructive. He commended the SIC for their efforts in promoting safety and morality within the university community.

The program featured a lecture by Mr. Julius Oyiwose, who explained common mistakes that can cause fire explosions and demonstrated how to use fire extinguishers. Wing Commander Mohamed Umar Awe (rtd), Director of Environmental Safety, encouraged students to join the SIC and avoid cultism and indecent dressing on campus.

The Vice-Chancellor assured that the university management would organize another exercise to educate all students on handling fires. He thanked the Nasarawa State Command of the Federal Fire Service for partnering with the SIC.
