On July 24, 2024, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Alumni Association held the 2nd Edition of the Post-University Degree Summit at the Postgraduate Auditorium.

The Alumni Association of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in collaboration with the University, recently hosted the 2nd Edition of the Post-University Degree Summit. The event, held at the Postgraduate Auditorium, FUNAAB, was themed "Charting Your Professional Journey: Building Skills for a Dynamic Future."

In his Opening Address, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi, Global President of the FUNAAB Alumni Association, emphasized the Summit's goal of equipping students with essential skills to navigate post-graduation career challenges. Reflecting on the success of the inaugural edition in 2022, Mr. Gbadamosi shared personal experiences of achieving financial independence and securing his first job during his service year. He noted that many of the day's panellists were successful FUNAAB alumni, underscoring the event’s role in helping current students, particularly those in their final year, prepare for their future careers. The focus was on empowering 500-Level students to become independent employers in a competitive job market.

The Keynote Speaker, Chief Emmanuel Apata, co-founder of Card Finance, delivered an inspiring address on "Building Skills for a Dynamic Future." Chief Apata highlighted ten essential skills for future success, including digital literacy, technological skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and international skills. He urged students to stay focused and determined in their career pursuits.

Mrs. Adebimpe Alabi, Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) in the Registry Unit at FUNAAB, delivered a Goodwill Message on behalf of the University's Career Service. She reiterated the Federal Government's objective in establishing the Career Service to assist students in securing meaningful post-graduation employment and encouraged students to fully utilize the opportunities provided by the Summit and the Career Service.

The Summit saw a strong turnout, including students, guests from various sectors, and distinguished personalities from the University Community. The event highlighted the ongoing commitment of the FUNAAB Alumni Association to supporting students in their professional development and career readiness.
