FUNAAB Staff Conclude Week-Long Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme (ADEPTI

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), today, December 5, 2025, successfully concluded the week-long Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI), which began on December 1, 2025.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Director, Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), Prof. Adeboye Fafiolu, commended staff for their commitment and active participation. He restated the increasing importance of digital literacy in modern university operations, noting that individuals who fail to embrace digital skills risk being left behind in today’s rapidly changing world.

The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the common challenges adult learners face in adapting to emerging technologies, but appreciated the participants for their resilience and eagerness to learn. He further described the modules delivered by the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) as timely, relevant, and deeply practical.

Participants including Mrs. Oluwaseun Okeleye, Prof. Olusegun Oladoye, Dr. Adenike Olaleye, and Mr. Israel Olaoye expressed sincere appreciation to FUNAAB and DBI for providing a conducive learning environment and hands-on training experience. They described the programme as transformative and essential for enhancing productivity in the digital era.

The Head, DBI, Mr. Soji Fagbemi, lauded the commitment demonstrated by the trainees and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills to advance institutional goals. He also commended the University Management for its continuous support and collaboration.

In his remarks, the Director, Directorate of Academic Planning, Prof. Olajide Sogunle, celebrated the fruitful partnership between FUNAAB and DBI. He advocated for the institutionalisation and expansion of the programme to enable more staff to benefit in future editions.

The highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of certificates to all participants, marking the successful end of a highly impactful and enriching digital empowerment initiative.
