The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof Babatunde Kehinde, has presented six official vehicles to another set of frontline officers of the University as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and effective service delivery.
The presentation, which took place on Thursday, 23 January 2026, covered the Dean of the College of Computing Sciences, Prof Oluwasefunmi Arogundade; the Director of the Institute of Communication and General Studies, Prof Remi Aduradola; the Director of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme, Prof Oluwatoyin Afolabi; and the Director of the Directorate of Academic Information Systems, Prof Olusegun Folorunso.
Others are the Director of the Directorate of Sports and Wellness Centre, Dr Samuel Olabanji, and the Acting Director of the Directorate of Internal Audit, Mr Kehinde Ajayi.
While presenting the vehicles, Prof Kehinde explained that the procurement was funded through the University’s Internally Generated Revenue, stressing the need for responsible usage and strong maintenance culture in view of prevailing financial constraints. He noted that although some officers had previously had access to official vehicles, others assumed office without such support, making the intervention necessary.

He emphasised that proper handling and maintenance would extend the lifespan of the vehicles and ensure their availability for successive office holders, adding that operational tools remain critical to institutional productivity.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the beneficiaries and reiterated Management’s commitment to providing the necessary support that would enable both academic and administrative units to function effectively and meet institutional objectives.
In their remarks, the Registrar, Dr Titus Adeniyi, and the Bursar, Mr Olukayode Osinuga, commended the Vice Chancellor for the initiative, describing it as a reflection of prudent financial management. They urged the beneficiaries to prioritise proper maintenance to maximise the value of the investment.
The University Librarian, Prof Abayomi Owolabi, also expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, noting that the gesture demonstrated Management’s commitment to staff support despite limited resources, and called for disciplined use of the vehicles.

Also present at the event were the Senior Deputy Registrar, Executive Affairs, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Mr Moses Ayanda, and the Acting Head of the Directorate of Public Relations, Mr Olasunkanmi Olajide.
