The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has begun an internal restructuring process to improve academic excellence and administrative efficiency.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, announced the redeployment of staff across various departments and faculties, citing the need to enhance administrative processes ahead of the upcoming academic year.

The university has recorded a significant increase in admission applications, with FUOYE having the third-highest number of applications for the 2025/26 academic year. The restructuring aims to ensure effective management and streamline administrative processes.

The Governing Council has approved the appointment of new Heads of Departments and Faculty Deans, provided there are no financial implications. However, the deployment of a new Procurement Officer was rejected due to a backlog of procurement and the impending accreditation in September/October 2025. The Council emphasized the need for merit-based recruitment into the Procurement Department.
