FUTA Announces 184th Inaugural Lecture
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) will host its 184th inaugural lecture, to be delivered by Professor Olayinka Ladele Ludotun Awopetu, Professor of Applied Manufacturing Technology, Machine Tools and Cutting Tools.
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) will host its 184th inaugural lecture, to be delivered by Professor Olayinka Ladele Ludotun Awopetu, Professor of Applied Manufacturing Technology, Machine Tools and Cutting Tools.
The lecture, titled “Metal Cutting and Theory of Chip Formation: The History of a Science Without History,” will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium of the university at 3:00 p.m., with guests expected to be seated by 2:45 p.m.

The event will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, FAS, while the Registrar, Mr. C.O. Adeleye, will serve as the convener.
The university community, friends, and the general public are cordially invited to attend.
