Gombe State University Senate Approves Landmark Reforms to Enhance Academic Excellence
In a significant move to enhance academic delivery and student conduct, the Senate of Gombe State University has approved several key decisions at its 98th regular meeting held on July 25, 2024.
The reforms, aimed at promoting academic integrity and improving lecture delivery, include the establishment of virtual lecture theaters and a review of the Students' Handbook.
According to a statement released by the University, Heads of Departments have been directed to provide designated venues for virtual lectures, while the Director of ICT is to organize training sessions for lecturers on virtual lecture delivery.
The reviewed Students' Handbook focuses on examination misconduct, expulsion, and rustication, with key amendments including mandatory presentation of examination cards, minimum attendance requirements, and prohibition of certain items in examination halls.
