KWASU Clarifies CAC Registration Requirement for 300-Level Students
Kwara State University has confirmed that Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration is a mandatory requirement for graduation, applying only to 300-level students as part of the institution’s entrepreneurship program.
The Students’ Union at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has issued an update regarding the mandatory Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration for students, following recent confusion surrounding the requirement.
In a press release dated November 27th, 2024, the Union clarified that CAC registration remains an essential graduation prerequisite, as it has traditionally applied to students transitioning from 200 to 300 level. The registration is part of the university’s entrepreneurship program, designed to equip students with entrepreneurial skills essential for career success.
While the university had recently extended this requirement to all levels, a meeting with the university management reaffirmed that the existing norm will be maintained, with only 300-level students required to pay for the registration.
The Executive President, Abdulafeez Babatunde Kewulere (Baba), reassured students that the decision is not a new development and emphasized the importance of the CAC registration as part of the university’s effort to foster entrepreneurship. He apologized for any confusion caused by the announcement and assured students of the Union’s continued commitment to prioritizing their interests.
For further inquiries, students can contact the Union’s leadership, including Hon. Aliyu Ezekiel, the Public Relations Officer.
