Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Organises SIWES Orientation for Eligible Students
The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has organised an orientation programme for students scheduled to participate in the Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), as part of efforts to prepare them for effective industrial attachment.

The interactive session, held on campus, was supervised by officials from the Ibadan Area Office of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and targeted students who are due to commence their industrial training across various sectors of the economy.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, was represented at the event by the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Zaccheaus Kayode Adeyemo, who conveyed the University’s commitment to strengthening industry–academia collaboration through SIWES.
In his remarks, the Director of SIWES, LAUTECH, Professor Samuel Adelani Babarinde, charged the students to conduct themselves responsibly during their attachments. He urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the University, stressing the importance of discipline, professionalism, and dedication in contributing meaningfully to their host organisations.
Delivering the Vice-Chancellor’s address, Professor Adeyemo expressed the University’s appreciation to the Industrial Training Fund for its sustained partnership and support in the successful implementation of the SIWES programme, describing the ITF as a dependable stakeholder in manpower development.
The orientation provided students with essential guidance on expectations, conduct, and opportunities associated with the SIWES programme, reinforcing LAUTECH’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates equipped with practical skills and professional competence.
