Lassa Fever Progress Report Presented at Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO)
The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, is hosting the presentation of a vital research report on the seroprevalence and transmission of Lassa fever in North Central Nigeria.
The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Benue State, is currently hosting the dissemination of a significant research report on Lassa fever. The study focuses on the seroprevalence, risk factors, and transmission of Lassa fever virus infection across North Central Nigeria.
The event, chaired by renowned infectious disease expert Professor John Idoko, former Director-General of NACA, has attracted notable figures, including FUHSO Vice Chancellor Professor Innocent Ujah, mni, OON, NPOM, university management, and both academic and non-academic staff. Representatives from Tetfund, NCDC, Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, PANADEA Diagnostics (Germany), civil society organizations, and the press are also in attendance.
Led by Professor Stephen Obekpa Abah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) and a Professor of Community Medicine and Public Health at FUHSO, the research covers states like Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory.
