Former Governor of Lagos state has urged graduates of the Lagos State University (LASU) to look beyond immediate success and envision long-term goals.
In a stirring address to graduating students of the Lagos State University (LASU), former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola urged them to think beyond the present and consider their aspirations for the next 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years.

Drawing from his own experience, Fashola emphasized the importance of resilience and adaptability in an ever-changing world. "Celebrating one achievement should not hinder your progress towards the next," he stated.
Addressing concerns about age and capability, Fashola shared an anecdote about advising a young mentee who questioned whether he was too young to lead a government parastatal. The former governor's words were clear, "If you're old enough to go to war for Nigeria and give up your life to protect her, you cannot be too young to head one of her parastatals, If you are good enough, then you are old enough."
Fashola emphasized that education alone is insufficient for success. "Life becomes meaningless the day we stop learning," he stated. Beyond skills and formal education, he stressed the need for self discipline.
