MDCN Team Visits FULafia for Accreditation of College of Medicine Courses

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, a team of experts from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), led by Deputy Registrar Dr. N. U. Nwakanma, visited the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) for the accreditation of courses in the university’s College of Medicine. The delegation was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, at the university’s main campus.
During the visit, Professor Abdul Rahman expressed the institution’s commitment to meeting the highest standards of medical education and ensuring that the College of Medicine continues to produce competent healthcare professionals. He also highlighted the importance of the accreditation process in maintaining quality assurance in medical training.
Dr. Nwakanma, on behalf of the MDCN team, commended FULafia for its efforts in developing its College of Medicine and assured that the accreditation process would be thorough and in line with national and international standards.
The visit is a significant step towards ensuring that the medical programs offered by FULafia are duly accredited, securing the future of its medical students and enhancing the university’s standing in the healthcare education sector.
