Mrs. Abdulwahab Flags Off Lecture Series for 2024 Batch B Stream II at Paiko Camp

Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, the NYSC Niger State Coordinator, officially launched the Lecture Series for the 2024 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko. The event was held in the Multipurpose Hall of the camp.

Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, the NYSC Niger State Coordinator, officially launched the Lecture Series for the 2024 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko. The event was held in the Multipurpose Hall of the camp.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Abdulwahab emphasized the importance of being attentive during the lectures and encouraged the Corps Members to take thorough notes. She assured them that the knowledge gained would be invaluable both during and after their service year. To make the lectures engaging, she promised that they would include short breaks and interludes. Mrs. Abdulwahab also introduced some songs and anecdotes to the Corps Members, which they embraced enthusiastically as part of their interactive learning experience.

The lecture series commenced with a crucial sensitization session on security, delivered by Dr. Bala Dalhatu. Dr. Dalhatu, a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and a security consultant with Conflict, Security and Development Consults in Abuja, provided an in-depth discussion on national security issues. He stressed that security is a collective responsibility and offered practical tips for staying safe throughout the orientation period and beyond.

Following Dr. Dalhatu’s presentation, additional lectures were conducted, covering various topics vital for the Corps Members' development. Mrs. Amina Umar led a session on Gender and SERVICOM, while Mr. Eze Christopher delivered an informative lecture on ICT. These sessions aimed to broaden the Corps Members' understanding and equip them with essential skills for their service year.

The Lecture Series is designed to provide Corps Members with a well-rounded education on critical issues, preparing them for a successful and impactful service experience. Mrs. Abdulwahab’s initiative is set to foster a learning environment that supports both personal and professional growth.
