NUC Conducts Accreditation Visit to McPherson University’s Law Programme
McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has hosted a four-member delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of its Law Programme under the College of Law.
McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has hosted a four-member delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of its Law Programme under the College of Law.
The team, led by Professor Omerionwan Kingsley Edu from Delta State University, Abraka, visited the University to assess the programme’s level of compliance with NUC’s quality assurance standards and operational benchmarks.

Other members of the accreditation team include:
- Professor Omolade Oniyinde from Ekiti State University
- Professor Abdulfatia Oladapo Sambo from the University of Ilorin
- F.O. Ariyo, representing the National Universities Commission
The accreditation exercise, which held from Wednesday, 15th to Friday, 18th October 2025, featured a comprehensive review of academic and physical resources, including the curriculum, staffing quality, teaching facilities, library holdings, and student support systems within the College of Law.

While welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, expressed gratitude to the NUC for its consistent efforts in ensuring quality assurance across Nigerian universities. He reaffirmed McPherson University’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence and ethical standards in line with national regulatory expectations.
At the end of the visit, Professor Igbasan thanked the team for their professionalism and valuable feedback, assuring that all observations and recommendations made during the exercise would be addressed promptly to further strengthen the Law Programme.

In his exit remarks, Professor Edu commended the University’s Management for its remarkable investment in human and material resources supporting the Law Programme. He also identified key areas for improvement and encouraged the institution to build on its current progress to sustain its drive toward academic distinction.
