The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has outlined the processes for the collection of Certificate of Exemption for home trained graduates. This announcement comes as part of efforts to streamline the issuance of exemption certificates and ensure transparency in the procedure.
For home trained graduates, the process would commence at the Corps Producing Institutions, where the following steps are undertaken:

1. Submission of Master List: The tertiary institutions attended by the graduates submit a master list of their graduates, along with the Senate-approved results, to the NYSC.
2. Classification and Verification: NYSC processes the submitted list, categorizing individuals to be called up for service and those eligible for exemption. This print-out is then sent back to the institutions for verification and correction of any discrepancies.
3. Document Production: Upon verification and correction, the NYSC produces the Certificates of Exemption based on the agreed/corrected document.
4. Issuance at Institutions: The Certificates of Exemption are documented and sent back to the institutions for issuance to the appropriate individuals.
SUGGESTED: DG Urges Corps Members To Accept Their Postings
It is important to note that the collection of Certificate of Exemption for home trained graduates is exclusively carried out at the institution of graduation and not at the NYSC office.
This process aimed to streamline the collection procedure, ensuring that eligible graduates receive their Certificates of Exemption in a timely and efficient manner. The NYSC emphasizes the importance of adhering to these guidelines to facilitate a smooth process for all parties involved.
