The Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH), is taking a bold step toward academic modernization with the introduction of digital timetables and improved student-lecturer engagement systems — a move designed to enhance learning efficiency and strengthen communication across the campus.
The Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, made this known during a familiarization meeting with the newly elected Student Union (SU) Executive on Monday, September 29, 2025, at his office. The meeting provided an avenue for aligning the Union’s goals with the Rector’s vision of innovation-driven institutional growth.
Dr. Oluseye commended the 9th Student Union Executive for fostering peace and orderliness on campus, particularly their initiative to educate new students on adherence to school rules and regulations.
In his remarks, the SU President, Comrade Fadilu Ilo, appreciated the Management’s consistent prioritization of student welfare. He presented several requests on behalf of the students, including the release of the academic calendar, clarification on ND 2 and HND 2 school fees, support for a student accident victim, and approval for a Student Union retreat.
Responding, Dr. Oluseye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to student welfare and safety. He promised the prompt release of the academic calendar and outstanding school fees once the Academic Board completes the level migration process.
The Rector also directed the Transportation Committee to ensure the immediate operation of the shuttle buses donated by Senator Solomon Adeola (YAYI), representing Ogun West Senatorial District, to ease students’ movement within and around the campus.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Deputy Rector, Dr. Oluyemi Odutola; Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson; Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Sulaiman Aminu; Speaker of the Students’ Parliament, and other members of the SU Executive.
With this digitalization initiative, OGITECH reaffirms its commitment to leveraging technology for a smarter, more connected, and student-centered learning environment.
