Principal Officers Praise YabaTech Rector on First Anniversary

As Dr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul marks his first year as Rector of Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech), principal officers have lauded his significant achievements in leading the 77-year-old institution.

Dr. Abdul received his appointment letter from former Education Minister Alhaji Adamu Adamu in Abuja. Since then, his administration has been characterized by substantial progress and innovation.

Dr. Ismaila Badmus, the College Deputy Rector (Academics), highlighted the Rector's commitment to consolidating existing strengths while shaping the institution's future. Under Dr. Abdul's leadership, the development of academic staff has been prioritized, with significant support for attending conferences and conducting research. This has led to several national and international accolades for the institution.

Notably, YabaTech secured a $1 million grant from UNICEF, with Dr. Abdul being part of the winning team. Additionally, the college received a national research fund of N34 million and a N2 million grant from the Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC).

Dr. Jude Akinwale, the Acting Registrar, described Dr. Abdul’s performance as "very impressive," attributing it to his 'ERECT' Agenda—Empowerment, Repackaging skills, Expansion of skills improvement, and Tapping on grants and linkages worldwide.
