Redeemer’s University Joins Tech Space, Hosts Inaugural Tech Festival
Redeemer’s University recently ventured into the technology space by organizing its first-ever tech festival.
Redeemer’s University recently marked a significant milestone in its pursuit of excellence by launching its inaugural tech festival, a testament to its commitment to integrating theory with practical application to effect transformative change in society.
The event, organized by a dedicated team of students known as RUNTechSpace, received support from the Department of Computer Science faculty. It attracted participants from various departments and faculties within the university, as well as students from sister institutions such as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The festival served as a platform for insightful discussions on how technology has revolutionized critical financial operations and how individuals can navigate and thrive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. Esteemed speakers shared personal experiences and expertise on various facets of the industry, shedding light on its intersection with disciplines such as Banking, Law, Linguistics, and Communication.

Pascal Ntsama, CEO of Canza Finance, a neobank leveraging decentralized finance, underscored the opportunities for investment in the fintech space, highlighting how technology has disrupted traditional financial practices on a global scale. Mokut Udofia, an intellectual property and technology attorney based in New York, provided invaluable insights into navigating the legal aspects of the tech industry, emphasizing the importance of legal awareness within the sector.
A highlight of the event was the address by alumnus Mr. Wole Odeleye, a financial services industry lead at Microsoft. Drawing from his personal journey in the tech sector, Odeleye urged attendees, particularly students, to seize opportunities for learning, contribute to organizational progress, and enhance their skills through online courses.
The lineup of speakers also included Bekere Amassoma, Program Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Oracle Academy; Dolo Nosamiefan, Program Manager for the ACEGID Sentinel Project; Opeyemi Olatoye, Product Manager at Hoshitech; and Olanrewaju Oyinbooke, Senior Cloud Advocate at Microsoft.
The festival featured engaging activities such as pitch deck presentations and panel discussions, providing attendees with a holistic understanding of the dynamic tech landscape and inspiring them to explore opportunities for innovation and growth.
