RETRIDOL Hosts September ODL Discourse on AI and Indigenous Languages

The Regional Training & Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (RETRIDOL), a prominent branch of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), is set to host the September 2024 edition of its monthly Open and Distance Learning (ODL) discourse. This month’s event, scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, will explore the topic, “Exploring the Role of AI in Promoting Indigenous Languages in Teaching and Learning.”

This highly anticipated virtual lecture will feature renowned scholars in the field of digital education and language technology as the main discussants. Professor Antonio Martinez-Arboleda, Co-director of the Centre for Research in Digital Education at the University of Leeds, UK, and Dr. Tunde Adegbola, Executive Director of the African Languages Technology Initiative (Alt-i), will share their insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can revolutionize the teaching and learning of indigenous languages.
