SAZU Vice-Chancellor Inspects Nursing Labs and Clinic; Pledges Enhanced Support for Clinical Training

The Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Professor Fatimah Tahir, on Monday, 2nd February 2026, undertook a working visit to the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Gadau Main Campus.

The visit was part of her ongoing efforts to enhance academic quality and strengthen teaching and learning activities across the University.

During an inspection of the Department’s well-equipped laboratories, the Vice Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the staff. She reiterated the Management’s willingness to provide additional facilities to improve practical training and encouraged the Department to utilize the existing equipment efficiently and responsibly.

Professor Tahir also visited other units within the Department, including the Midwifery Demonstration Room, as well as the Ante-Natal and Post-Natal Demonstration Units. She commended the standard of the facilities provided for clinical training and advised laboratory technicians to ensure proper use and maintenance of the equipment.

In a related development, the Vice Chancellor paid a visit to the University Clinic, where she expressed appreciation for the quality of healthcare services being provided to students and residents of the host community. She reaffirmed the University’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare and urged staff to continue making prudent use of available facilities.

While at the clinic, Professor Tahir inspected the wards, records office, injection rooms, consultation room, and pharmacy, and interacted with nurses and other health personnel. She assured the staff of Management’s continuous support and commitment to addressing their needs.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by key members of the University Management, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Bala Ma’aji Abdulhamid; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Aminu Umar Kura; Registrar, Dr. A. G. Hassan; Ag. Bursar, Ibrahim Abdullahi; Dean, Students’ Affairs, Professor Abdussalam; Ag. Director of Works, Lukman Sa’id; Ag. Director of Procurement, Architect Abdulhamid Bala; Director of Physical Planning, Architect Habu Yusuf, among others.
