SAZU Vice-Chancellor Inspects Nursing Labs and University Clinic; Pledges Enhanced Support for Clinical Training

The Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Professor Fatimah Tahir, on Monday, 2nd February 2026, paid a working visit to the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, at the Gadau Main Campus.

The visit forms part of her commitment to strengthening academic standards and improving teaching and learning across the University.

While inspecting the fully equipped laboratories in the Department, the Vice Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the level of dedication and professionalism displayed by the staff. She reaffirmed Management’s readiness to provide additional facilities to further enhance practical training and urged the Department to make optimal and careful use of the available equipment.

The Vice Chancellor also toured other sections of the Department, including the Midwifery Demonstration Room as well as the Ante-Natal and Post-Natal Demonstration Units, where she commended the quality of facilities put in place to support clinical training. She advised laboratory technicians to ensure proper handling and maintenance of the equipment.

In a similar development, Professor Fatimah Tahir visited the University Clinic, where she expressed satisfaction with the services being rendered to students and members of the surrounding community. She reiterated the University’s commitment to quality healthcare delivery and encouraged staff to continue making judicious use of the facilities.

During the visit, the Vice Chancellor inspected the wards, record office, injection rooms, consultation room and pharmacy, and interacted with nurses and other health personnel. She assured the clinic staff of Management’s continued support and readiness to address their concerns.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by members of the University Management, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Bala Ma’aji Abdulhamid; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Aminu Umar Kura; Registrar, Dr. A. G. Hassan; Ag. Bursar, Ibrahim Abdullahi; Dean, Students’ Affairs, Professor Abdussalam; Ag. Director of Works, Lukman Sa’id; Ag. Director of Procurement, Architect Abdulhamid Bala; Director of Physical Planning, Architect Habu Yusuf, among others.
