SSANU Demands 25% Salary Increment for Sokoto State University Staff
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) of Sokoto State University has called on the state government and university management to implement a 25% salary increment for its members.
In a statement released on Sunday, the union cited the federal government's implementation of a similar increase for university workers as a basis for their demand. SSANU emphasized the need for prompt implementation to alleviate financial burdens and improve the livelihoods of its members.
The union also raised concerns about transparency and accountability in the management and remittance of union dues and the fulfillment of commitments regarding the payment of earned allowances to eligible staff members.
