The Tiv Students Association of Benue State University, Makurdi, hosted a historic coronation and swearing-in ceremony today at the university's Culture Event Center. The event marked the elevation of the association's First and Second Class Chiefs and the inauguration of its new Executive Committee.

The ceremony began at 12 noon, led by His Royal Highness, Zaki Best Katyona Kersha Best Kavior, who infused the proceedings with his traditional authority and extensive experience. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, members of the association filled the venue with excitement and anticipation.

A highlight of the ceremony was the coronation of the First and Second Class Chiefs, selected for their exemplary leadership and commitment to the Tiv community. Adorned in traditional regalia, the chiefs pledged to uphold the values and traditions of the Tiv people while striving for the progress and unity of the student community.

Following the coronation, the new Executive officials were sworn in. The Executive Committee includes the Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Auditor, Public Relations Officer (PRO), and other key positions. During the swearing-in, they vowed to serve the association with integrity, transparency, and accountability. The NUBESS president, Comrade Ahua Fabian Tavershima, congratulated them and encouraged them to work tirelessly for the advancement of the Tiv student community.

The ceremony also showcased the rich heritage of the Tiv people, featuring traditional dishes such as "Ngyata" and "Mngishin." Guests and members enjoyed a delightful feast, symbolizing unity and togetherness. The installation of "Tor kwaor" and "Kumashe" added to the cultural significance of the occasion.
