Tiv Tribe Wins Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Inter-Tribal Competition

The Students Union Government (SUG) of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP) Lafia, led by President Comr. Jacob John Mutuwa, hosted the Day 5 event of the Students Week, themed "The Impact of Technology on Social Activities." The event featured an inter-tribal competition, which showcased the diverse cultures and traditions of various tribes in Nigeria.

The competition began with a recognition of all Tribal Presidents (ATPs) within the school, followed by performances from each tribe. The Afo community of Nasarawa state kicked off the event, followed by other tribes. The competition featured presentations of dance, interpretation of meals, and other cultural displays.

Amb. Sunday Shamma Kpanja, Dean of Students Affairs and ASUP National Chairman, addressed the students, urging them to remain calm and focused as they await their results. He also thanked the judges for their time and effort in coordinating the program.

The competition saw 18 tribes participating, with the Tiv Tribe emerging as the winner with a total percentage of 83.5%. The Gbagyi Tribe came in second with 83.0%, while the Jukum Tribe took third place with 79.0%.

In his closing remarks, SUG President Comr. Jacob John Mutuwa expressed gratitude to all students for their participation and law-abiding behavior during the Students Week. He also thanked the Acting Rector, Dr. Nurudeen Mu'azu Maitafa, and the school management for their support.
