Tragedy Strikes as 300 Level Student Dies During Ritual Performance

A somber cloud has descended upon the Akenten Appiah-Minkah University of Skills Training (AAMUST) following the tragic death of a 23-year-old level 300 student. Prosper Owusu, who was not only pursuing his education but also held the position of Chief Priest of the Opoku Ware Hall, met his untimely demise during a spiritual ritual that took a disastrous turn.

Prosper Owusu, a member of the Dons spiritual group on the AAMUST campus, was involved in a ritual alongside a fellow spiritualist from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Katanga Hall. The ritual was intended to display spiritual powers, but it ended in a horrifying tragedy.

According to reports, the fatal incident occurred when the raffia skirt Prosper was wearing as part of the ritual suddenly caught fire. Despite the imminent danger, he refused to extinguish the flames, believing that the fire had activated his mystical powers. Tragically, his conviction proved to be fatal.

Witnesses to the incident recall the distressing scene. "While he was displaying and the fire caught his smoke, he refused to put it off, claiming the fire had activated his fetish power. He was later overpowered after he failed to remove the fire; he quickly ran into a pool of water, but it was too late for him," one observer recounted.

After sustaining severe burns, Prosper Owusu was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries a week after admission.

His remains have been placed in the Komfo Anokye Morgue, and preparations for his one-week observation are underway by his grieving family.

In the wake of this tragic incident, the AAMUST authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Prosper Owusu's death. Additionally, they are taking measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the university's students.

The untimely death of Prosper Owusu serves as a poignant reminder of the potential risks associated with spiritual rituals and the importance of safety precautions in such practices.
