TSU Management Inaugurates 2025/2026 Student Representative Council; Charges Leaders on Integrity
The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) for the 2025/2026 academic session has been officially inaugurated at Taraba State University today.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, was represented at the ceremony by the DVC Administration Prof. Reuben Johnathan Other principal officers present included the DVC Academic Dr. Ahmad Baba, Registrar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu, University Librarian, Dr. Israel Habibu Idris the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Atando Dauda Agbu, security representatives, and staff of the Students’ Affairs Division.
Delivering his welcome address, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Atando Dauda Agbu, urged the newly elected student leaders to adhere strictly to University policies and due process in the discharge of their responsibilities. He emphasized the need for discipline, unity, and good conduct as they assume leadership roles within the University community.
In his remarks, Prof. Reuben Jonathan commended the students for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the selection process across departments and faculties. He encouraged the representatives to uphold the integrity and reputation of the University while promoting fairness and accountability in their leadership. He further assured students of Management’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and timely return to full academic activities.
The oath of office was administered to the SRC/TASSU executives by the Legal Unit representative, Barr. Vakude, Esq., marking their formal assumption of office.
In his acceptance speech, the SRC/TASSU Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Yohana expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and University Management for their continued support. He pledged to work collaboratively with Management and students to protect the integrity and interests of the institution.
