The Registrar of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, Cross River State, Dr. Gabriel O. Egbe, has ordered immediate sanctions against staff members who failed to resume duty in accordance with the University’s directive on the commencement of academic activities.

The action followed unscheduled inspection visits by the Registrar to several Faculties, Departments, and Units, where multiple offices were found unattended during official working hours.
Following the findings, Dr. Egbe directed the Head of Human Resources to compile the names of defaulting staff and forward them to the Bursary Department for salary deductions covering the days they were absent from duty.
He stated that the University would no longer condone absenteeism or the practice of earning salaries without rendering commensurate services, stressing that accountability, discipline, and commitment to duty remain core priorities of the current administration.
Dr. Egbe further instructed all staff members to report to his office to obtain copies of the University’s Conditions of Service for proper guidance, warning that any future breach of institutional policies would attract stiffer sanctions in line with extant rules and public service regulations.
He also cautioned against the use of offices for personal commercial activities, describing the practice as a violation of the University’s Conditions of Service and the Public Service Rules, and emphasized that offices are strictly for official business.
The Registrar reaffirmed Management’s resolve to institutionalize discipline, productivity, and professionalism across the University, urging staff to demonstrate punctuality, dedication, and respect for constituted authority as the institution pursues improved efficiency and academic standards.
