The Faculty of Science at Admiralty University of Nigeria has reinforced its commitment to academic excellence and responsible scholarship with a comprehensive orientation programme held on February 12, 2026.

The session brought together faculty leaders and students in a structured engagement designed to set clear expectations around discipline, conduct, and performance standards within the faculty.

Leading the discussions were Professor Daniel Asuquo and Dr. Chioma Ehis-Eriakha, Heads of the Departments of Biology and Forensic Science respectively. They underscored the importance of early course registration, adherence to institutional regulations, and appropriate dressing. Dr. Ehis-Eriakha emphasized that admission into the university is not merely a milestone but a responsibility, urging students to embody the institution’s values and uphold its academic reputation through disciplined behavior.

Laboratory protocols formed a major component of the programme, with Ms. Ngozi Dimbo and Mr. James Adeiza delivering detailed guidance on safety procedures. Students were cautioned to remain vigilant in laboratory environments, avoid distractions such as mobile phone usage, refrain from bringing unauthorized materials, and maintain silence to promote safety and concentration during practical sessions.

Professor C.C. Isitua, Chairman of the Orientation Committee, alongside other presenters, addressed students’ questions, providing clarifications and reinforcing compliance with faculty standards and procedures.

In his closing remarks, Dr. S.I. Musa stressed the need for examination consciousness, warning against any form of malpractice. He described examinations as not only assessments of knowledge but also measures of integrity and discipline. He further reminded students that consistent lecture attendance is compulsory and that the early stages of university life present a critical opportunity to build and safeguard a strong cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

The orientation programme reaffirmed the Faculty of Science’s strategic focus on cultivating disciplined, safety-conscious, and academically driven graduates.
