UNILAG ICE Hosts Discourse on Quality Service Delivery and Future-Ready Strategies
The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), University of Lagos (UNILAG), on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, held a one-day discourse for faculty and departmental coordinators, as well as programme staff, to strengthen service delivery and prepare for the future.
The Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), University of Lagos (UNILAG), on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, held a one-day discourse for faculty and departmental coordinators, as well as programme staff, to strengthen service delivery and prepare for the future.

The event, themed “Total Quality Service Delivery: A Panacea for a Future-Ready Institute of Continuing Education”, took place at the Biodun Shobanjo Centre of Excellence in Multimedia Studies, Department of Mass Communication.

In her opening remarks, the Director of ICE-UNILAG, Professor Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika, said the discourse was aimed at building staff capacity, promoting productivity, and addressing issues affecting students to enhance the quality and output of the ICE programme.

The Registrar of the University, Mrs. Abosede Wickliffe, represented by Principal Assistant Registrar at the Directorate of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Adebimpe Ajelabi, spoke on university policies regarding leave of absence, deferment, transfers, transcripts, and academic standing.

Presentations also came from Professor Ogwezzy-Ndisika and Deputy Director Dr. Olusola Thomas, who addressed course allocation, scheme of examiners, student recruitment and retention. Director of the Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe Centre for Information and Technology Systems (ABS-CITS), Professor M.O.H. Amuda, outlined e-registration and e-results processes, while Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Counselling Unit, Mrs. Janet Aregbesola, spoke on work ethics, mentoring, and coaching as tools for academic development.

Participants used the session to share experiences, identify operational challenges, and suggest strategies for improvement, including enhancing the examination process and developing an ICT policy for the Institute.

The event also featured a farewell acknowledgment for two ICE staff members recently redeployed to other units within the university.
