UNIUYO, Education Students Association Implements New Communication Policies and WhatsApp Guidelines

The Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN), University of Uyo chapter, has introduced a major overhaul of its communication protocols and WhatsApp platform usage, effective immediately.

In a directive from the Office of the Executive President, Comrade Courage Sampson, the association mandated that all official communications from the President’s office must be issued exclusively on the approved ESAN letterhead. Students are strongly advised to disregard any notice, memo, or correspondence lacking this official branding, as such documents are deemed unauthorised and invalid.

Additionally, ESAN has imposed a ban on advertisements, unsolicited posts, group tagging, and the sharing of promotional links within the main WhatsApp group. This policy seeks to eliminate spam and maintain the platform’s focus on official academic and administrative matters.

To accommodate necessary promotional content, the association plans to restructure the WhatsApp platform by creating a separate channel specifically for advertisements. Until the new structure is fully implemented, all advertisement requests must be submitted to the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations for review and placement.

The main ESAN WhatsApp group will also undergo temporary restructuring to streamline administration and ensure orderly communication.

Executive President Comrade Courage Sampson stated that the measures are intended to “uphold standards, maintain order, and promote effective communication within the Faculty,” and thanked students for their cooperation as the new protocols are enacted.
