The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has issued a clarification for students who are NELFund beneficiaries and are currently unable to register courses for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has issued a clarification for students who are NELFund beneficiaries and are currently unable to register courses for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The issue arises because the portal continues to prompt for fee payment, despite NELFund having disbursed fees for the 2024/2025 session.
Situation:
NELFund had paid school fees for some students in the previous session. The university’s registration system does not recognize these past payments for the new academic session, blocking course registration for affected students.

Immediate Steps for Affected Students:
- Pay 2025/2026 session school fees personally to unlock and complete course registration on the portal.
- Apply for a refund of the 2024/2025 school fees paid by NELFund, following official university refund procedures.
Requirements for Refund Application:
- A formal letter to the Bursar requesting the refund, including:
- Registration number
- Department/Faculty
- Personal bank account details
- Original copies of the school fees receipt and NELFund payment receipt
- Use of a traditional commercial bank account for smooth processing
Important:
Students must retain all payment records and submit the refund application promptly. Compliance ensures smooth course registration for the 2025/2026 session while allowing proper reconciliation of university financial records.
Affected students are urged to act urgently to avoid delays in registration.
