Chief Tunde Fanimokun, Chairman of the DSE Foundation and the lecture's chairman, lauded Dr. Abdul's contributions, describing him as a "technological game changer" whose innovative ideas have positioned YabaTech at the forefront of tertiary education in Nigeria. He praised Dr. Abdul for his humility and simplicity, qualities that have endeared him to the college community.
In his keynote address, Pa George Majekodunmi Okufi, the first indigenous Rector of YabaTech, commended Dr. Abdul's visionary leadership. He highlighted the tangible improvements seen at the college under Dr. Abdul's administration, urging the community to support the Rector's vision for elevating YabaTech to global standards.

Elder Ayo Aroge, the Southwest Zonal Director of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), also praised Dr. Abdul for enhancing the college's standards. The guest lecturer, Dr. Awoh Stella Mofunanya, Rector of Redeemers College of Technology and Management (RECTEM), delivered an insightful lecture on "Leadership and Service: The Need for Creativity, Innovation, and Excellence." She emphasized the importance of these elements in today's rapidly evolving world and commended Dr. Abdul's approach to incorporating them into his leadership style.

The event also featured an award ceremony honoring past rectors who have significantly contributed to YabaTech's legacy of excellence. Award recipients included Pa G. M. Okufi, Dr. Philip Adegbile (posthumously), Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Abimbola Odugbesan (posthumously), Dr. Felix Owoso (posthumously), Dr. Margret Kudirat Ladipo, and Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe. The names of Mrs. Odugbesan and Dr. Owoso were immortalized on building structures within the college, ensuring their legacies endure.
The celebration highlighted the college's commitment to recognizing and preserving the contributions of those who have shaped its history and emphasized the ongoing efforts to maintain YabaTech's status as a leading institution in Nigeria.
