Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), the first higher institution in Nigeria, is set to usher in a transformative era by incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics into its academic curriculum. During a courtesy visit to Chief Babatunde Fanimokun, a distinguished philanthropist, and developmental economist, the YABATECH Rector, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, announced plans to replace the computer science course with courses focused on AI, Robotics, and related skills.
Dr. Abdul emphasized the importance of embracing cutting-edge technologies to equip students with the skills demanded by the rapidly evolving job market. The establishment of an AI and robotics hub at YABATECH is envisioned to serve as a dedicated space for advanced research and development in these technologies. The rector stated that this initiative would position YABATECH at the forefront of educational innovation, ensuring students are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the ever-evolving digital era.
