400-Level NSUK Student, Janet Salisu Launches Book ‘The Realities Of Life On Campus’
A student of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Janet Salisu, has launched a book titled “The Realities Of Life On Campus”, with a foreword written by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman (Sweet Mother of NSUK).
Ms. Janet, a 400-level student of Environmental Management, launched the book on Friday, August 15th, in a ceremony held at the university’s S.B. Mohammed Hall.
The book launch, according to a statement issued by the university’s Information and Protocol Unit, had in attendance dignitaries within and outside the state-owned institution.
Speaking, the Vice-Chancellor, through her Special Adviser, Mallam Muhammadu D. Nasiru, applauded the young author for her courage and creativity.
Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Linkages), Associate Professor K’tso Ngargbu; Chairman of ICAN Lafia District and Society, Mr. Thomas Stephen Akwaden; Director of UNIPOD, Dr. Aisha Abubakar Kana; Deputy Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Dr. Lamai Ochanya; as well as staff and students of the Department of Environmental Management, among others.
The programme featured a rich lineup, including the Vice-Chancellor’s goodwill message, an address by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Linkages), spoken-word presentations, a book review, and a talk show segment. To add colour to the day, several students received prizes.
In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed pride in the author, describing her as a shining example of NSUK’s commitment to nurturing talent and encouraging innovation among its students. She urged others to emulate Janet by exploring creative and intellectual pursuits that make a positive impact on society.
The book launch was hailed as a resounding success, not only for celebrating Janet Salisu’s achievement but also for reaffirming the university’s dedication to supporting young people, fostering growth, and promoting development.
