Ayoka Ade(LA/22B/3334), a Prospective Corps Member of the 2022 Batch 'B' Stream I, currently undergoing Orientation at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja has landed an automatic employment from the Oba of Lagos in - Council for her beautiful cultural rendition during the NYSC traditional lecture.
According to findings by Myschoolnews, The Representatives of Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu, who had stormed the camp in their royal garbs were stunned by the performance of the corps member.
The Prospective Corps Members worked her way into the hearts of the Traditional Rulers-in Council through her dexterous rendition of yoruba traditional panegyrics and exhibition of a deep knowledge of the language.
Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Royal Council, Prince Ayodele Oyekan, Bajulaiye of Lagos, has said culture and traditions are germane in the life of man, stating that they are the common denominators and identity of a group of people. He therefore urged the Prospective Corps Members to ensure their cultures and traditions are not eradicated but instead promoted as these will serve as their identity in a foreign land.
Also, the Council treasurer of Surulere Local Government Area of Lagos, Mrs Taiwo Adeola Danso has called on the female Prospective Corps Members of the camp to tread the path of traditional values which are preserving in our civilized world which is growing out of hand.
She advised that they place values on themselves as this will be transfered down their bloodline if handled seriously.
The traditional programme of the NYSC is infused into the events of the scheme to uphold the cultures and traditions of a diverse nation, thereby, preventing it from eroding.
Other Royal Chiefs present at the event were; Chief Ismail Folaji, Olorogun-Ide of Lagos; Chief Waidi Yusuf, Olorogun Agbeje of Lagos, Chief Waidi Ayeni, Sasore of Lagos; Chief Abayomi Olusi, Egbe of Lagos, and Chief Ibikunle Bailey, Oluwo of Lagos.
