The Acting Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr. Akanimo Jonah, today held a high-level strategic meeting with Deans of Schools, Directors of Directorates, and Heads of Departments to strengthen academic administration and reposition the institution for enhanced effectiveness.

The Acting Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr. Akanimo Jonah, today held a high-level strategic meeting with Deans of Schools, Directors of Directorates, and Heads of Departments to strengthen academic administration and reposition the institution for enhanced effectiveness.

The meeting, convened at the Rector’s office, focused on improving academic processes, fostering interdepartmental cooperation, enhancing staff performance, and ensuring alignment with the Polytechnic’s mandate of producing skilled, industry-ready graduates.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Jonah thanked God for guiding staff and students throughout the 2025 academic year. He stressed the importance of unity of purpose and proactive leadership at all levels, urging Deans, Directors, and HODs to demonstrate professionalism, transparency, and commitment in their duties. He also highlighted the critical role of effective coordination between schools and departments in driving institutional growth.

The Acting Rector reassured participants of management’s support and the provision of an enabling environment for academic and administrative success. They also shared challenges affecting their units and proposed actionable solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency and teaching quality.
