Elvis Otobo, former spokesperson of Caleb University, Lagos, has made history by becoming Africa’s first professor of Archival Science and Diplomatics. Appointed by Ballsbridge University in the Dominican Republic, Prof. Otobo’s career is distinguished by extensive publications and impactful research in archival science.
Prof. Otobo has designed globally recognized training courses in archives and records management. His work includes significant collaborations, such as with the National Archives, United Kingdom, to provide annual training for Nigerian records managers and archivists.
Ballsbridge University, renowned for its innovative education approaches including open, online, blended transnational, and virtual learning, recognized Otobo’s contributions to archival science. His pioneering achievements include being Nigeria’s first business archivist and playing a vital role in advancing the Records and Information Management ecosystem both locally and internationally.

Prof. Otobo has received numerous accolades, including being named a Fellow of the Certified Business Management Professionals and an Ambassador of the International Leadership Summit of Leaders. He has also earned commendations from the National Archivist of Iceland, served as a GWA Judge for the International Public Relations Association, and holds an honorary doctorate from the Swiss Business School.
