Caleb University gets NUC accreditation in 6 programmes, Mass Communication, Architecture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Industrial Biotechnology and others.
The National Universities Commission has renewed the full accreditation it earlier granted the Masters of Business Administration programme along with six other undergraduate degree programmes of the university.
A statement by the university said the accreditation was communicated in a letter signed by Arc. S.S. Ikani, Deputy Director of Programme Accreditation, based on the result of the November/December 2022 Accreditation visit.
It read, “The University regulatory body renewed the full accreditation of the Masters of Business Administration programme, as well as the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Accounting, Computer Science.
Others are Mass Communication, Architecture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Industrial Biotechnology. In the same vein, the Psychology programme was granted full accreditation,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, has emphasised the need for all postgraduate students to work towards the successful completion of their doctorate degree programmes within three years. Speaking during the PhD post-field presentation by three students of the Department of Architecture, which was evaluated using global academic benchmarks and criteria, he added that departments should work towards graduating PhD students within three years time frame. Professor of Architecture and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Adedeji Daramola, who joined the foreign team of assessors in the UK, noted that the purpose of the bilateral academic interaction and evaluation was to make the PhD work in Caleb University more robust and of global quality and standard.
An Associate Professor from the University of Manchester, Dr Obuks Ejohwomu, organised the virtual interactions. Other global scholars in attendance include Dr Mohammmed Abadi from Syria and currently at the University of Manchester and Dr Enoch Odesola from De Montfort University, UK.
