Ebonyi State Welcomes New Batch of Corps Members, Assures of a Rewarding Service Year

Ebonyi State Government has assured the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream ‘1’ Corps members posted to the state of a hitch-free orientation course and a rewarding service year.
Represented by the Director of the State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mr. Lawrence Orji, the Governor conveyed this message during the swearing-in ceremony at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Old Macgregor College, Afikpo Local Government Area.

Orji stated, “I am convinced that you will record a hitch-free orientation course and rewarding service year in the salt of the nation.” He also encouraged the Corps members to align with the developmental agenda of the state’s ‘People’s Charter of Needs’ to leave a lasting impact in Ebonyi State.
The Chairman of the NYSC Governing Council, Mr. Richard Idike, congratulated the Corps members and wished them a memorable service year. Mrs. Oladeinde Foluke, the NYSC State Coordinator, highlighted the historical significance of the NYSC scheme.

She also emphasized its role in promoting national unity and integration among Nigeria’s diverse tribes. “To achieve this, the service has been carefully planned and segmented into four cardinal programmes namely: Orientation, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service (CDS), and the winding-up/passing out,” Oladeinde added.
Mrs. Foluke noted that the orientation course, spanning three weeks, is structured to instill discipline, self-reliance, and necessary skills in the corps members to navigate challenges during their service year and beyond.
