Federal Colleges of Education To Start Awarding Degrees

The Federal Government of Nigeria has implemented the Dual Mandate Policy in all Federal Colleges of Education, enabling them to award both Nigeria Certificate in Education and Bachelor's Degrees in Education.

This move is expected to enhance teacher education, broaden access to higher education, and improve classroom instruction quality.

The policy allows eligible colleges to operate autonomously, develop their curricula, and respond to emerging trends in the teaching profession. It also aims to address declining enrollment and preserve institutional relevance.
