Federal Government Appoints Aragbiji as FUNAAB Pro-Chancellor

The Federal Government of Nigeria has appointed HRM Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji land, as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

In a significant development for the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), the Federal Government of Nigeria has appointed HRM Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero (JP), FCIMP, FNIM, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji land, as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of its Governing Council.

Aragbiji Olabomi, a seasoned professional with a background in History (Education) from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, began his career in 1989 with the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. His journey culminated in his appointment as Director of Personnel Management before ascending to the revered throne of the 15th Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Osun State, in 2008. He is a distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

The appointment of Aragbiji Olabomi is part of the Federal Government’s strategic move to enhance governance and leadership at FUNAAB, ensuring effective oversight and management of the university's affairs. His wealth of experience in public service and leadership roles is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the university's governance structure.

Joining Aragbiji Olabomi on the Governing Council are other esteemed appointees including Atsenda Ishwa, Charity Umbwe Shekari, Rt. Hon. Ayo Agbonmuserin, and Dr. Adeniyi Afolabi Balogun. These appointments reflect a commitment to assembling a diverse team of professionals capable of steering FUNAAB towards greater academic excellence and institutional development.
