Federal Polytechnic Offa (FEDPOFFA) Alumni and Endowment Unit Holds One-Day Capacity Building Workshop

In a bid to strengthen the overall institutional capacity of the Polytechnic to deliver premium, efficient, and effective quality service at all levels, the FEDPOFFA Alumni and endowment Unit on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, organized a one-day capacity building training for Staff of the Polytechnic at the Library and Information Science Conference room. 

 The capacity building training tagged "Multi-Disciplinary Colloquium on Work Ethics and Staff Discipline" was sponsored by the Polytechnic Alumni Association with a focus on equipping staff of the Polytechnic with a strong work ethics and a strict commitment to discipline,

Addressing the Staff at the Workshop, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru commended the leadership of the Alumni association led by Comrade Rahman Ayuba for organizing a training workshop to enhance staff productivity. He described the Alumni Association as a relevant stakeholder in the Polytechnic.

He added that the training was imperative as a way of improving the Polytechnic delivery system; he charged the participants to be aware of the task ahead and make the most of the training programme, ensuring that they emerge from it as empowered people.

The Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko represented by Mrs. Adeyeye Shade Medinat commended the facilitators for their in-depth presentations. She commended the Alumni Association's efforts to improve the administrative formation of the Polytechnic.

In his remarks, the Alumni President, Comrade Rahman Ayuba represented by the National Secretary, Salman Abiola Mogboyin appreciated the Deputy Registrar and staff of the Alumni and Endowment unit for making the workshop a success. He acknowledged the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri and his management team for creating a conducive environment for staff capacity building and development.  

According to him, "The workshop is part of the three-year strategic plan of the Alumni Association and part of her initiative to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Polytechnic. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of staff of the Alumni and Endowment unit for making the workshop a success."

Earlier in her welcome address, the Deputy Registrar, Alumni and Endowment Unit, Mrs. F. F. Akande expressed optimism that the colloquium will proffer necessary solutions needed for tackling lingering problems, saying, "as soaring eagles, great responsibilities has been placed on our shoulders and consequently requires a high level of commitment from all of us to drive our separate Units forward." According to her, "You are all Heads of Departments and Units in your respective spheres, therefore the onus is on you to go back to your individual departments to bring to bear what you've learnt from here."

Various sessions were handled by discussants who presented resourceful and practicable topics featuring the Director of Special Duties, Mr. T.L. Oladiran; MD/CEO of Swiftwings Communications, Mr. Dapo Omojola; Deputy Registrar, Certificates, Mr. Kamaldeen Kola Balogun; and Mr. O. A. Oladimeji, with engaging discussions, and interactive sessions spanning across setting goals, work ethics, endowment benefits and certificates processing to shape a more ethical environment.

Present at the event were: Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Ishaq Salman; Deputy Rector Academics, Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bola Aliyu; Dean, School of Communication, Dr. Mrs. Oluwakemi Ogungbamigbe;  Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Waheed Balogun, Director ACTU, Dr. Egbele,  Deputy Registrar, Council Affairs, Barr. E.K. Babatunde; Deputy Registrar, NYSC, Mr. Olayinka Iroye, SSA to the Rector, Mrs. J.F Egbele, Acting Chief Internal Auditor, Mrs. Ronke Mustapha; Deputy Registrar ASHRU, Mrs.Okuwa, National Vice-Chairman, SSANIP, Chief Ayo Bankole among others.
