The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) cordially invites its graduands, their parents/guardians, and the general public to a landmark event – the combined 6th, 7th, and 8th Convocation Ceremonies.
Schedule of Events
Day 1: Sunday, February 4, 2024
- Event: Special Prayer
- Venue: FULafia Chapel of Light, University Auditorium, Take-Off Site Campus.
- Time: 10:00 am.
Day 2: Wednesday, February 7, 2024
- Event: Press Briefing by the Vice-Chancellor
- Venue: New Senate Chamber
- Time: 10:00 am.
Day 3: Friday, February 9, 2024
- Event 1: Juma’at Prayers
- Venue: Federal University of Lafia Juma’at Mosque, Permanent Site Campus
- Time: 1.15 p.m.
- Event 2: Convocation Lecture by Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), CON, CFR, Chairman/CEO, NDLEA
- Venue: Mallam Adamu Adamu Office and Lecture Complex, Permanent Site Campus, Lafia, Nasarawa State
- Time: 10:00 am.
Day 4: Saturday, February 10, 2024
- Event: Investiture of the Chancellor and Convocation Ceremonies
- Venue: Federal University of Lafia, Convocation Arena, Permanent Site Campus, Makurdi Road, Lafia
- Time: 10:00 am.
Information for Graduands
Registration and Attire
- Graduands Payment: Graduands are to pay the specified amount using Remitta (Details available in the attached flyer).
- Dress Code: Graduands must dress in appropriate attire.
- Entry Restrictions: Access to the Convocation venue is restricted post 09:00 am. Only two relatives per graduand are allowed.
- Mandatory Participation: Graduands must remain at the venue until the ceremony concludes.
Academic Gown Collection and Return
- Collection: From February 5, 2024, 10:00 am to February 9, 2024, 4:00 pm.
- Return: Gowns should be returned between February 12 and 16, 2024.
Certificate Collection
- Date: From Monday, February 12, 2024.
- Requirements: Proof of payment for the certificate and gown return clearance.
Security Measures
- Parking: Designated parking lots available upon presentation of parking cards.
- Vehicle Inspection: Security checks for luggage and bags at entry points.
- Hawking Prohibition: No hawking allowed near the Convocation Arena.
- Vehicle Entry: No tinted glass vehicles without security permission.
