Delivering his professorial inaugural lecture on June 11, 2024, Gbaden highlighted the economic and social significance of art in addressing the country's socio-economic challenges.

The lecture, titled "From Long Trains in the Wet Soil to Social Ideation: Individuation on Art, Inspiration and Process," showcased Gbaden's artistic works and explored the importance of recognizing drawing as a finite art form. He drew inspiration from traditional, cultural, and contemporary ideologies, underscoring the potential of art to understand and address Nigeria's cultural deterioration and socio-economic issues.

The event, held at the MIS Multi-Purpose Hall, was attended by dignitaries from various universities and organizations, including the National Gallery of Art. Vice-Chancellor Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman commended Gbaden's achievements, and Chairperson of the Inaugural Lecture Committee, Prof. Josephine Odey, acknowledged his contributions to art and education.
