FULafia Vice Chancellor commends SPGS for online programmes
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has commended the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Prof. Victor Dugga, for the steps he has taken aimed at introducing online postgraduate programmes in the University.
The vice-chancellor gave the commendation at a workshop organised to understudy the workings of online and e-learning programs, processes and procedures in the FULafia School of Postgraduate Studies.

The vice-chancellor urged the SPGS to maintain the pace, saying that universities all over the world have embraced e-learning programmes.
He stressed the need for FULafia to continue to develop its facilities and expand the e-learning programme.

Speaking earlier, the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Professor Victor Dugga, thanked the vice-chancellor for his initiative to introduce the e-learning programme in FULafia, saying that "the vice-chancellor had taken us out of Nigeria's environment and placing us in the global space."
Dugga said that FULafia was among very few universities in Nigeria conducting online postgraduate programmes, calling on staff to think of new ways of doing things in the University.
Others who spoke at the workshop were the Director, Learning Content Management System, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, Director, E-Learning, Open/Distance Learning Directorate, Dr. Joseph Dlama Zira, and Director, Management Information System (MIS), Dr. Ovey Agushaka.

The event, which took place at the Permanent Site Campus of the University, was organised for the deans, directors, heads of academic departments and other lecturers.
