FUNAAB Commences First Semester Examinations for Part-Time Degree Programme
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has commenced the First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 Academic Session under its Part-Time Degree Programme.
The examinations, which began today, February 21, 2026, would run till Saturday, March 14, 2026. According to the Coordinator of the Part-Time Degree Programme, Dr. Enovwo Odjegba, the examinations are scheduled to hold strictly on Saturdays and Sundays between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Odjegba disclosed that this year’s exercise introduces a notable adjustment, as weekday Part-Time examinations are now being conducted on weekends for the first time. She explained that the decision was taken to address logistical considerations following the commencement of lectures for the Full-Time programme, thereby ensuring a seamless academic calendar across both streams.
The designated venues for the examinations are the Mahmood Yakubu Lecture Theatre and the Prof. Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre. She assured the University Community that adequate arrangements had been put in place to guarantee a smooth, orderly, and hitch-free conduct of the exercise. So far, the examinations have been progressing peacefully across the centres.
As part of Management’s oversight responsibility, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olusegun Idowu, paid an inspection visit to monitor the commencement of the examinations. Expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, he commended the Programme Coordinator and staff members for their dedication towards ensuring a successful take-off.
Prof. Idowu noted that the coordination, logistics, security arrangements, and administrative planning required for part-time examinations are substantial, describing the smooth commencement as a reflection of the University’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance and institutional integrity.
Addressing students during his visit, the DVC, Academic congratulated them on reaching a critical stage of the semester. He acknowledged the discipline, sacrifice, and resilience required to balance academic pursuits with work and family responsibilities, encouraging them to remain focused, calm, and confident throughout the examination period.
He emphasised that examinations remain a vital component of the University’s quality assurance framework, stressing that part-time programmes must uphold the same standards, credibility, and academic rigour as full-time programmes. He reaffirmed Management’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and assessment, assuring that the University would continue to strengthen its systems to ensure that its certificates remain symbols of excellence and competence.
